Where can I find people or organizations to donate items?

I am the program manager for a program that provides resources for parents and children in our community. We are having a back to school open house event. We would like to give away school supplies for the children going back to school. Where can I find people and organizations that will donate some of these type of items? Any information, (including websites) is helpful. Thank you

Check to see if your community has a local Community Foundation. They usually have grants that are easy to get to start this up. Also, local stores are usually happy to donate items for things like this!!

You can create a list of businesses and organizations that are in your local area. Develop a script. Call and solicit on behalf of these children. Offer them compensation in the form of a letter stating that they donated *** ammount of supplies worth *** dollars. They could use that as a tax right off. Even though people give…they most always want something in return. Writing a letter for a tax right off is a good way to get what you need.
Also, try Coke, Burger King, and other prominent national companies.
