After collecting all or most of this information about the person or persons you are searching for, you can now start your search on the Internet. To determine the best place to find someone, ask yourself the following questions:
Is he or she an expert? There are “expert” websites for every profession and geographical region. Do you only want a phone number or address for this person? Use an “online directory assistance” website. Is the person likely to be actively using their email in Usenet discussion groups? Try searching for topic-specific discussion groups and/or mailing lists. Or maybe he or she has created a web page? Type the person’s name in any search engine. You might be surprised to find they have a website.
There are many different methods for searching for people on the Internet. The important thing to remember is to be persistent and get creative.
